Introducing the rise of the OKAN Welcome Center! Formally the Melissa Daycare Center, the acquisition of OKAN Center was a collaborative effort to preserve this vital community
space. In the Yoruba language, OKAN [pronounced: "Ohkahn"] means “the heart & soul,” as it is centrally located in PHP. It is intended to serve as a central space for creatives,
professionals, foodies, youth, community members, and visitors! If anyone wants to provide after-school activities, workshops, poetry jams, youth events, and more, please contact us with requests. We seek volunteers to help get the center together and open before or by late spring 2025.
