About
We are Community-Led

As a Community Development Corporation [CDC], we are committed to intensify efforts . By engaging with local and external community leaders and organizations, we aspire to innovate and implement programs, development opportunities and ecological protections to change the condition of our underserved and protect our most sacred environment. Our organization was forged from grass roots activism, driven by the voices and determination of residents to reclaim and direct our own land conservation and community development to make Pembroke Township a better place for all.
“All life is interrelated. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.”
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

INDIGENOUS LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
We humbly acknowledge that the land on which the Pembroke-Hopkins Park [PHP] community resides is the unceded territory and home of the Potawatomi (Pah-tah-wah-toh-mee) Nation, as well as the Odawa (ah-doh-wah), and Ojibwe (oh-jeeb-wah) Nations-- the Three Fires Confederacy. For thousands of years the PHP area was a site of strategic planning, trade, travel, and healing for other Native tribes and later, for African-Americans escaping the brutalities of the Slave Trade and Jim Crow eras. We inherit what they preserved... The CDC wishes to continue to honor and steward this great gift of land and forward it to the next seven generations and beyond.
